Today I feel like Monday is the end of a crazy weekend, rather than the start of a new week. Do you guys ever feel like that? I feel like I need another weekend day just to take a nap and be ready for the week.

I haven’t done one of these for awhile so I thought it would be fun to share a few random things about life right now, share a few of your own with me in the comments!

I’ve been on a real s’mores kick lately. Like if I want dessert, that’s my treat of choice. The funny thing is, I didn’t even LIKE s’mores that much as a kid. I basically just tolerated them when camping, because that’s what you do, and I still hate marshmallows that aren’t toasted, but I’m like always craving a s’more right now. Swimsuit season is fast approaching too, It’s a problem.

I spent the first 2 months living in our house oscillating between feeling tremendously grateful that we found our white New England farmhouse, and seriously overwhelmed by all the work that needs to be done on her. I even spent a few weeks with overwhelm paralyzation. A couple weeks ago I had a total breakthrough about it all, progress not perfection. And I have been so much happier/getting so much more done ever since.

Every time I think we’ve moved past Ethan’s bad eater stage, we have a massive battle of wills at dinner time and he ends up sitting at the table for an hour insisting that he’ll never eat his brussel sprouts. He’s been doing this since he was three. {insert eye roll emoji} BTW, he ate them. I just had to threaten that they’d become his breakfast if he didn’t.

This is the first truly high waisted pair of jeans I’ve given a shot, and I’m kind of loving them. Granted, they aren’t skinny jeans– I really don’t think I have the legs to pull off high waisted skinnies– but I really love these denim culottes. They kind of remind me of something my mom would have worn when she was young, and they feel like something classic, which makes me love the style even more.

I really need to get serious about a super healthy eating routine, (see above s’more addiction) especially now that I’m in my 30’s. I’ve been looking into a few different approaches, but I’m interested in what any of you might have tried??

I spent most of last weekend helping Carter create a trip-board depicting the life of a Medieval farmer. The weekend before it was a mobile of an african wild dog’s biosphere with Ethan. Mom life is weird.

Yes, this is in fact another striped shirt, (a new one!) for my closet. And it really lives up to the reviews. It’s a great breton stripe with a nice quality fabric and a really good fit. (I went up one size.) I build a basic capsule for my closet (for each season) before I start adding trendy pieces, and a breton stripe is at the top of my list on pretty much every capsule.
