Jumpsuit. Shoes. Belt. (c/o Lucky Brand)

We’ve had a cold and rainy week, but last week I got my first taste of summer in New England. Do you know what I realized? New England summer heat is no joke! I immediately started making a mental note of all the things in my closet that won’t be torture to wear in that kind of humid heat, and I realized that I need to add a lot more breezy lightweight pieces to my closet if I’m going to be ready for the heat up.

As I said earlier in the week, I hate sacrificing style just because it’s hot outside, so one of my tricks for getting dressed in the summer is finding pieces that are light and airy while making a big statement. Jumpsuits are definitely one of my go-to pieces for making a big statement in the summer. I am obsessed with the culotte styles that have come out this year like this gorgeous navy one from Lucky Brand. I switched out the tassel belt that came with it (also super cute) in favor of this pretty cognac one just to add a little warmth and texture to the outfit. I love how this jumpsuit makes a big statement, but it’s also cool and breezy and comfy enough to sleep in. Seriously the fabric is so insanely soft, I want my whole summer wardrobe made out of it.

If you haven’t jumped on the romper train, dresses are also a great way to stay cool while making a style statement in the summer. I love Lucky Brand’s pretty boho style dresses for summer, lots of breezy florals in gorgeous drapey fabrics. Their whole soft and tailored line is really perfect for summer.

Right now, Lucky Brand is having their huge Memorial Day sale and you can get 40% off almost everything on their site.

So, you know. Happy Shopping! ;-)

(I recommend giving this jumpsuit, these boyfriend jeans, this button up shirt, this safari shirt, and these linen pants a try. All great options for the warm weather months.)
